Finding Hope is a resource written by Graham Leo, author, chaplain, former principal of Emmanuel College and a carer for The Mooring. It was written with The Mooring in mind but is helpful for anyone journeying with people going through crisis, grief or trauma.
The book includes-
Part One: Living with grief (covers normalising grief, protecting relationships through grief and adjusting to life with grief)
Part Two: How can God help me? (covers the relevance of God in our real life situations)
Part Three: Finding spiritual help (includes bible passages and prayers people can turn to when they don’t know what to do or say)
Part Four: The Three Golden Keys (looks at Romans 8 in narrative form)
Part Five: Where is God in a world of suffering? (covers questions such as- Does God care about human suffering? Is God punishing me? How can there be a good God when there is so much pain and suffering in the world?)
Part Six: Dealing with the practical (is a checklist of practical things people may need to consider when going through a time of crisis)
You can purchase the book on Amazon.
The Mooring Team Leader Georgia Taynton sat with author Graham Leo to discuss the making of Finding Hope and how it has already been used to help families of patients in ICU.
